And I WON!!!

As I have mentioned before, aside from my regular 365 projects and flickr posting, another way for me to enhance my photography skills is to participate in local meetup groups. And yes, I am a member for a local meetup group, Exploring Photography. Well, that's just one. I am a member to two others.

With the meetup group above, every month, they set up a challenge to be participated by anybody from the group - pros or amateur. For the month of February, the theme was Kitchen. Sky is the limit to the interpretation of the theme.

I decided to participate the monthly challenge because it gives me ideas with my 365 project. Each participating photographer needs to post 3 photos about the theme. And those photos must be taken on the month that the challenge is imposed. With out hesitation, I submitted the following photos:

32/365 - Water, Agua, Tubig
Day 32 - Water, Agua, Tubig (Taken on February 1, 2011)

38/365 - Mike and Ike
Day 38 - Mike and Ike (Taken on February 7, 2011)

When I looked back at the posts, I got beautiful and nice comments from both photos. Those comments came from members. It was such a delight for me. It inspired me. Yesterday was the last day to post and today, they announced the winner.

Before looking who won, I had a great feeling that I have a good chance at winning. At first I thought it's going to be my Day 32 who will grab the win because of the positive comments I got. Surprisingly, it was my Mike and Ike. What do I get for the win? My photo will be the group's profile photo for the whole month and I get 100 free prints from the sponsor. Another thing that I won is the BRAGGING RIGHTS! This is what I tell my husband! But the most important thing that I really won from this whole challenge is the MOTIVATION, building my SELF-CONFIDENCE and SELF-ESTEEM and knowing that the thing that I have been doing is being appreciated by people who share the same passion as I do.

Aside from the last two things that I won, the reason why I participated the challenge is because I am after of reading the comments of other photographers so I would know what else it to be made to improve my skill. That's what I am after of because that's how I learn.

@Bek, Laura and Toni: thank you so much. The comments that you always leave on my page is what inspires me most to push my limits. I am still in the learning process and I am learning with all of you!
