72/365 - Clarksburg Wine Company
Today was another day in the Hunter Household. It started with a little bit of adjustment in our sleeping pattern because of the time change. It's spring forward, everyone!!!
It started with a Sunday brunch at the Cheesecake Factory, and a walk in the mall. We had quite a few pit stops. We decided to stop at Build-a-Bear for Madison. She made a bear that she picked. She even picked the clothes for her and registered it so the bear will have a Birth Certificate. While at the store, it was so cute to see Mady browsing from one rack of clothes to another, as if she knows what she's doing. She even helped stuffing the bear. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me to capture the moments.
After we have our bear, we roamed around the mall and the next pit stop was the bookstore. I wanted to grab some books for Mady and sure enough, I walk home with three for her. My main intention in the bookstore was just for Mady's but hubby has something else in mind. I guess this was part of the encouraging part that my father-in-law once mentioned. He's been bugging me to look for photography books and wanted me to get some for myself. I told him no because I can just browse in the internet if I want to look for something. Well, my alibi did not work. There were quite a few books that I wanted but I opted for the Scott Kelby boxed set for Digital PHotography: step by step secrets for how to make your photos look like a pro. I was glad with my purchase because it came in three volumes. I still need to go back to that particular shelf because there's just too many that I wanted to read. They will definitely end up in my wishlist.
So after the mall, we headed home. Hubby was bored and decided to just stop by the house so I can grab my camera and gear. He wanted to drive me around the Delta and look for possible subjects for me to take snaps at. How sweet can he be? That's why I love him to death. At first, I was not really thrilled and because my mood swings came kicking in. But I was thinking of the effort of my husband - to drive me around, so I get into the groove. While my eyes were busy, his was busy, too! He made quite a few quick stops so I can take snaps. The funny thing is, he forces me to get out of the car so I can get good angles.
As for the photo above, this was taken on our way home. We've never been to Clarksburg so instead of heading straight, we made a detour to South River Road. This was hubby's idea...again!!! He thought this was interesting and I obliged to take the snap...

Cool looking building which adds rich color to the photo. Sounds like you had a nice outing, Noreen! And yes, sounds like you've got a pretty great hubby.
Very cool shot. Sounds like y'all had a great day :-)
Thats great that you husband is so supportive of your photography. I love the soft focus is the foreground and the tac sharp focus of the building
That is so sweet of your hubby. It's great when they are so supportive of your passion and what to help push you. That place looks awesome, big wine buff so I would totally have tried to get in there if I could. hehe :)
Awesome, how your husband supports you with your hobby!
I'm browsing through our library's selection of photography books and once in a while I find an interesting one. It's true, while you can find everything online, it's still nice to hold an actual book as well.
@Cheryl: It's really cool. I found out that this used to be a sugar mill! At first, I did not really find this interesting but my husband pushed me. I even thought of not taking this shot with the excuse that my camera is in the trunk but he just pulled over, opened the trunk and asked me to get out of the car...LOL
@Amy: thanks Amy!! Yes, it was a great day...It would have been greater if it did not rain!!! :)
@Aasiya: thanks!! I did some adjustments in CS to make the foreground looked like it's got a soft focus. It's actually from an action from Coffeeshop Blog. The action is called Teeny-Tiny World (i think I messed the name up but it's something like that!). I wanted to achieve a Tilt and shift kind of perspective.
@Melissa: you should come and visit me here in California. If you're a wine buff, I can take you to Napa and Sonoma. They are the best wine country. You would probably enjoy it there!! And oh, this wine company is actually 10.9 miles away from our house...
@Bek: I totally agree and I just realized it when you mentioned it. I was off from work yesterday due to a bad headache and when that darn headache eased up, we actually went to the bookstore (again) and looked up some more. I wanted to grab more but then some of those that I really liked are very expensive and I don't think every pages of those books are useful to me. I might check the library out.
I've been to Napa and I LOVED it!!! I want to go back so bad sometime soon but it's just not in the plans yet. We're going to California this summer but San Diego for a wedding. Do they have good wine down there? :)
I believe they do because my cousin is based there and her fiance loves wine and they just do wine tasting almost every other weekend. I'll inquire from her and see if I'll share it to you when I'll get a chance...WE'll be heading down there on October for a wedding as well...
