84/365 - Bracelet from the Sea

84/365 - Bracelet from the Sea

I got this beautiful bracelet from a co-worker when she had her vacation in the Carribean Islands (hmmm, would it be nice if we were there at this very moment? Wishful thinking, eh!). Some of those who received this may have worn it but not me. Instead, I left in my desk and used it as an ornament along with my other knick-knacks. It's a good thing that I do it that way to avoid losing it.

During my lunch break, I saw this and my mind was set. This is going to be my subject for today and set the original plan some other time. The was placed on the same location as the photo yesterday. I used the same lighting although it was the flourescent light from the ceiling and not under my desk. I have another colored paper and thought of using this color. I could have played with different colors but I told myself that I'll save the others for next time.

It's been almost a week since I initiated a plan to just shoot not more than 10 photos of one object. I have been trying my very best to focus on my settings before clicking the camera. I really want to improve in controlling the settings in the manual mode. And so far, I have achieved it. I was able to get this shot in about 5 attempts. I was happy with the result. My main goal for this shot is show a details of the shells that were used and of course the shallow depth of field. I am positive that I have achieved what I was hoping for. I wished this could have been tighter but I only had the 50mm with me and I don't to crop so much.
