I've got about 6 minutes left before it'll strike 12...urggh, this is one of those "beat the time" kind of shot and processing!!! The reason? I was slacking. I did not forget but I was just glued to the tv with hubs and daughter! Plus, the daughter decided to stay up until almost 11. Whew!!!
This Japanese dollie is one of the hub's collection! I took it out from the cabinet to see what I can do with her!!! Sort of giving her a fresh air, too! She's been in that glass case for almost 3 years now!
The set-up: I used the same set-up with last night's shot! It means, I took this shot at the same location and same things that I used with last night. The only thing that was added was the flashlight to give it a more dramatic look. And for the finishing touches, I processed it with Lightroom.
As I post this photo on flickr, I noticed that the light and the cropping is not balanced. Actually, the cropping is how I wanted it to be, but the balance can't be seen because of how I positioned the flashlight. Oh well!! It's just a bummer!!!

Very nice. I like the lighting. I tried to take a similar picture, but the background was too plain and boring.
I like the lighting. It feels like she is walking onto the stage for a performance!
I think the light from the flashlight just turned out perfectly!
I love her! I live in Okinawa right now and I have started my collection of Japanese things myself. I love that the spotlight is just on her.
@cheryl: the background that I had for this was plain too! It was just two white paper and a white board. I used the flashlight as my spot light. Just give it a try! You'll never know if it works until you'll try it. Don't worry about the background. As long as your subject is interesting and beautiful, that's all that matters! :)
@Aasiya: haha..i did not even notice that until you pointed it out!!! who knew that a simple flashlight could help me pull out this image? LOL
@Bek: Thank you!!! I really appreciate that!! Sweet of you, too!
@Rockitonedayatatime: This is actually hubby's collection. He was stationed in Japan for a month or so when he was still in the Military. HE has quite a bunch of Japanese dolls in here that will probably appear in my 365 one of these days! :)
