36/365 - And Then There's Two

36/365 - And then there's two!

For today, I was supposed to join a local photography group for a meetup to different museums here in Sacramento. The city is opening these museums to the public for free! I was excited to participate because it has been a long time since I've participate to any group meetup! Unfortunately, just like anything other thing that I have signed up, I bailed on it. :(

We grabbed breakfast this morning. Since we slept in, we had a late breakfast at IHOP. When we were done, it was the time that the group will be meeting. My gear and other stuff were at the house. By the time we arrived back home, it was too late. I still wanted to go but there was a change of plan. I was upset but there's nothing I can do. I wanted to go but I just don't want to leave my hubby and baby in the house. It's the weekend, it's supposed to be my time to be with my family since I work during the week.

Since I was not able to go, I did things that make this day productive. My laundry was done. The kitchen was cleaned (well sort of!). You know, there's always something going on in the kitchen no matter how you've cleaned it.

I am a certified GLEEK. A better way to attest it was to watch a full day marathon of my favorite show - GLEE!!! I even taped some of the episodes that I love so I can watch it again (just in case the Superbowl will be boring). So, while watching the show, I was prepared to take a photo of my tootsie (lounging in my daughter's toy) and the tv just to show what I was doing. I have already selected the best show. But, I have to discard it because while I was folding the laundry, I saw these two birds sitting on top of the fence. I hurriedly grabbed and exchanged the lens from my camera. I hurriedly set the settings as well so I won't waste any time. Luckily, the settings were perfect. I stayed from behind the sliding glass door and took two snaps. Then, I moved to the couch and took another snap. The moment I was about to snap another one, the birds looked into my direction and within seconds, they flew away!!!

Though I had only a couple of good shots of the birds, I was happy that they came out just fine! I am lucky again!!! I was at the right time and at the right place!

Wow, these came out great! I tried once again to get a shot of a bird sitting on the fence right outside of my back door. I had everything set, but as soon as I approached the door (even though I tip-toed) the bird flew away. One of these days I'll get that shot!
