40/365 - Bar Stool

40/365 - Bar Stool

Originally, my post for today were the legs of the chairs from our dining table. I know for a fact that it was just a so-so product! It was not up to par of what I really want to achieve. The execution was poor. But despite all those, I still went ahead and posted it in my flickr stream.

Luckily, I have the best list of contacts. They are the people who tells me as it is when it comes to my photos. Their comments are really nice - they are not just because they admire my photos but also, they take the time to give me comments on how I could have improved my shot. And you know, these kind of comments make me inspired to get better shots everyday. Going back to the previous photo, the minute I posted it, my friend/contact emailed me and gave me a suggestion. He thought that the last photo that I posted was chaotic - in short, it was a mess! And I agree.

In the email that he sent me, he suggested of instead using all those legs, why not shot just one chair and/or one table. I understand what he was trying to tell me. With an hour to spare, my thinking caps came up and thus the photo above existed! I positioned the bar stool at an angle where a shadow can be made. The light was from an incandescent bulb from our hallway. I tried about 17 shots until I finally got what I was hoping for.
