114/365 - Smile

114/365 - Smile!!!

Happy Easter, Everyone!! Hope you all had a great Easter and that we all know the reason why we celebrate Easter. I am a Catholic and Easter is one of the church holidays that is really important to us. It reminded us of the day when Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead after he died on the cross to save our lives from sins. And because of that unconditional love that he has given us, he sacrificed himself and to that, I will always be grateful.

The things that we did today may have no connection with Easter (well to me, it does not really make sense why the egg hunting is associated with Easter), but it's we did it as a celebration. We did egg hunting for the kids but with the idea in mind of why we celebrate it. We may have partaken the commercialism brought about by this celebration but I know that deep down in my heart, it's the Resurrection of Jesus that we are celebrating.

Today, our cuddlebug did two egg hunting. The first one was at the house. We laid the eggs all over our living room. The first time she saw the eggs and the basket, she immediately know what she was supposed to do - that is to pick it up and put it in the basket. Inside those eggs were mere chocolates.

After our celebration in our house, we headed straight to my in-laws for cuddlebug's round two of egg hunting. She had so much fun picking up the eggs from her side of the backyard. The photo above was an evidence of how fun it was. Though she was busy picking up the eggs, she did not forget to give her grandpa Boobbie some smile for his camera.

When all was said and done, the whole family enjoyed a great dinner cooked by my father-in-law and a little entertainment brought to us by our cuddlebug. My parents would have never liked the fact that we did not stop by the church to celebrate mass but they know that deep in our hearts what we were celebrating for. It's not about the chocolates or the gifts that Easter Bunny left but it's all about Thanking God for Jesus and for saving us.

Hmm..I thought I commented on this alread, but I guess I didn't after all.. I love her dress!! She is such a cute girl:)
I'm also Catholic so I fully understand your feelings (and how your parents would react to it). We didn't go to church either out of 2 reasons- one, I went on Palm Sunday and was exhausted from 'wrestling' with Stephen. He wants to be everywhere, but in his mommy's arms.. and it's so crowded so he couldn't have his own seat.. second, our church rents the expo center for Easter so all people have a seat.. I really don't like this idea.. yes, I know.. the building itself shouldn't matter, it's the people being the church.. but it does make a difference for me... oh well.. like you said.. it's whats in your heart and that you know the real reason for the celebration!
