101/365 - Let's Talk about cones, baby!
After as spectacular photo that I took yesterday to celebrate the 100th day of the 365 photo challenge, today is nothing different. I would say it's not as spectacular as yesterday's but I loved it.
The simplicity of the subject is what caught my eye. Yes, it's just a plain cone but it has some characteristics in it that can be set apart from other subjects that I had. Well, it's because every subject that I have used is different from one another. The cone for instance, the thing that attracted me to it is its details. If one looked closely at it, you'll see some lines and even textures.
With the photo above, I tried to execute the shot in a way that I would be able to highlight the two things that captures my attention to the cone. If I had not mention the main things, do you think you would be able to determine it from this photo? Your feedback is highly regarded. Don't hesitate to share. Opinions and criticisms are always welcome.
I am not the best but by sharing what you see in your naked eyes compared to mine will really help me a lot. Thanks in advance.

I like you well you can see the details. It's a very clear shot. I'm just not sure if I like the blue background.. I think I would have liked a green better.. not bright green, but kind of a forest green.. - just my thought.
I love cones. Took some in my hand not that long ago but thought they may be too boring to post but after reading your post I totally agree and that is why I took the pics of mine - shape, texture colour etc :-) I might just post mine now. If I can find them.
I love the texture and shapes of cones, once cut open the patterns inside are amazing. I have some as Christmas tree decs. I think you have captured the shapes and textures well, but do find the background slightly distracting but like the shadows created by the cones. :)
@Bek: thanks...I really appreciate your input. I almost used the green background but I thought I needed something new for the color. I might have over-used the green alread...LOL..
@flower photography: go find 'em and let me know if you posted them. :) I would love to see your version!!!
@Karen: hm...really intersting...luckily, I haven't thrown these cones yet. I'll try to break them apart and see the details from the inside. I bet they are going to be pretty subejct!!! thank you mucho!
