Here are the missing photos for my Day 137, 138 and 139. I have issues though. I swear that I have taken those photos on the respective days but my flickr is flickering up on me. When I checked this morning, it says that took photos 137 and 138 on Day 139. It must probably be a glitch but I have some metadata from LR and ACR to support.
So again, here they are:
137/365 - Rain Drops from the HOOD
It's been almost a week after I took this photo that we have been experiencing some crazy weather. To think, it's mid May and the temperature should have been in the 80s-90s. Unfortunately, that was not the case in Northern California. We had rain, hail in our backyard and snow in the Sierras. For me, it was a delight because it washes away the pollen and some allergen which makes my day go by normally.
The photo below, it was past 9 o'clock and I still did not have a photo for the day. We just got back from Leatherby's (our beloved and favorite ice cream parlor). On our way home, the rain was pouring like crazy. When I got out of the car from the garage, I can hear the raindrops from the hood of the car calling my name. And the result is...
138/365 - Finally, I See Clouds
After a week long agony of cold temperature and wet pavements, the sun has finally showed up! It was such a sight to see those beautiful Cumulus clouds hovering over the City of Sacramento. I took the shot from the backseat of the car (yes, I sit on the back to keep a close eye on Madison because she unlatches her carseat belts) while we were on our way to attend hubby's friend's graduation.
139/365 - Heather
About a month ago, my co-worker approached me and told me she liked the photos she sees in my "People" album over at my Facebook page. When she mentioned the word "like", I was so happy and delighted to hear it and was very excited.
After a few exchange of questions, she asked me if I can take photos of her sister who is a Senior. At first, I was hesitant because I have no idea how to take Portraits, let alone posing people and have them wait for the outcome and prints to be shared by the rest of the family members. Can you sense the pressure there?
I took the opportunity. I humbly told them that I'll try and will do my very best. The trade was I'll do the photos for free (I can't just charge people without business license and experience) in exchange for using the output in my portfolio. Both parties agreed! Yay!
The shoot was supposed to be on Saturday but due to the crazy weather, we postponed it until yesterday. I am the quite lucky girl because one photographer friend that I knew in Flickr, Bycane (I am lucky to be surrounded with supportive photographer friends) lend a hand and came to help me out with the shoot (by the way, you should check his photostream in Flickr. That dude takes awesome photos!!!). I sure had fun and learned again so many things when it comes to this kind of session which can be applied to other kind of sessions.
Here's a sneak peek of Heather!
Heather was so fabulous! She rocked the whole shoot. The best part, she was easy to work with. I was glad that at the end of day, we all had fun. It was definitely a great learning experience! Thank you Heather and thank you Bycane.
I showed her this sample photo and I am glad and relieved to hear that both her sister and her liked it.
Once I will be done with the rest of her photos, I'll share some of the results here. I went overboard with shooting. Luckily, I had my 16GB with me. Just imagine taking 500+ shoots in Raw. But it's all good! I am slowly taking it in!

Love the cloud picture. Very cool.
Noreen, you are really doing well at portrait photography. I am proud of you for diving into unchartered waters.
Love all 3 of the shots! But the 2nd photo really mesmorized me!
I hadn't had the chance to hop by your blog lately, but I have to say I love your portraits! You're doing really great at it. I know exactly how you feel when people ask you to take portraits - I didn't like to do portraiture, and even now I have probably done 2 serious sessions. I do try to practise when I can, but it still scares the daylights out of me! You go, girl!
@Amy: thank you!!!
@Cheryl: thank you..that means a lot! :)
@Tara: thank you!!! Sweet of you!!
@toni: me too!!! i hop from time to time but never had the chance to left a comment. Thank you!! I am so relieved to know that I am not the only one having this kind of feelign when shooting people. :)
Great job with Heather's portrait! I bet she'll be more than happy with the outcome:)
