130/365 - Soaring High
Today is another day! Another day for me to think of what I am supposed to shoot for my daily project.
Lately, I have been struggling with my photos. I am my worst critic but it's very obvious that my photos in the last 3-4 days has really been of poor quality. It's as if I am losing my creativity. And so today, I tried to brave the winds and stepped out the backyard and looked for something beautiful and pretty.
Our backyard is empty. We've moved in for almost 4 years now but our backyard is as barren as the desert. And that alone does not encourage me to take some great photos. Luckily, our neighbor's plant is hovering past our backyard fence. It has some beautiful flowers that was just swaying along the wind. It was a little hard for me to get the right focus because the wind was pretty crazy. But I had the chance and bingo.
What I love about the shot? It is how the flower just shines against the clear blue sky. It's nothing fancy. I thought I just love how the wind helped me composed the shot. The only thing that I did not like is the minute I went inside the house, my throat started to itch. And whammmo, there goes my allergies...AGAIN!!!
Today is another day for me. Remember my co-worker who let me borrow his photography magazine in lieu of my photography books? Yes, I still have his magazines but this time, he let me borrow and let me install his Lightroom 3. Say what? I just saved me money from the upgrades. I had an existing Lighroom 2 but since he was kind enough to share his installer, I immediately made the upgrade. He has told me about letting me borrow his installer but during that time, it was at his brother-in-law. I did not bother asking him at all. But he was really kind to share it to me.
Or maybe because I was nice to invite him to the practice shoot over the weekend. He had fun taking shots and I bet he got some pretty nice portraits as well.

I love the purple against the beautiful blue sky. Noreen, we all go through times where we search for our creativity--I'm doing the same thing. I guess that's what being an artist is all about, right? You've created some beautiful work, so don't be so hard on yourself. Keep up the good work, my friend!
