13/365 - Shiny, Shimmery Forks

12/365 - Shiny, Shimmery Forks

Every aspiring photographer or should I say, every photographer has it's high moments and has also its low moments. The photo above is what I could consider one. Well, not really! I'll take it away.

This was a composition that I planned whole through out the day while I was at work. I typically have something in mind early in the day so when it's time for to execute, it's easier for me. I have everything what I envisioned for. I was hoping to get a good shadow and a great focus on middle part where both forks met. As I looked in my LCD, I thought I got it. But when I looked into the my computer, the focus was off but I did not really care so much about because there was a shallow depth of field. As for the shadow, I was happy about it.

The processing is then what I considered my low point last night. I did not have so much time. I was talking to my parents and brother from back in the Philippines. We catch up from time to time but it's not an everyday thing for me so both me and my family took our time. When I was done, it was already late at night and hubby was looking for some attention. So I was in hurry while editing this.

What should I have done with this if there was enough time? I could have adjusted the exposure. (Thank goodness I shoot in Raw) and lighten it a bit. And maybe adjust some of the vibrance and saturation. That's the only magical thing I can do with post processing. As I have mentioned many times in my previous posts, I have a very limited knowledge with post processing.

In closing, I'll definitely go back to this image again. I have about different shots of this subject. I'll pull one out with the adjustments and we'll see the difference. For now, that's about my entry for Day 13.
