It's all about SAP Open Tennis

On Valentine's day, me and hubby went on a different route. We took the unusual way to celebrate Valentine's day. Where did you we go? Well, we were given the chance to watch the SAP Open Tennis Finals at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

It has been three consecutive years that we've watched this Open Tennis which features the players like Andy Roddick, Mardy Fish, Radeck Stepanek, Sam Querrey, Fernando Verdasco, etc. These players may not be the like of Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer but they did not fail the audiences' expectations of a good game.

And so, here some of the highlights of the games that we've watched.

View of the court from where we were seated. We had a great seat! Thank you to my sister-in-law who provided the tickets and the VIP (Ace Club Lounge) access to us. Also, this the mens doubles final. It was Mardy Fish and Sam Querrey against Leonardo Mayer and Benjamin Becker.

View of the court from the Entry Door. Once the game has started, as you know, we are not allowed to walk back to our seats. So, I had the opportunity to get a bird's eye view of the game. This is the men's singles finals. It was Andy Roddick versus Fernando Verdasco.

It's Andy smashing some balls! These guys can hit the first service balls up to 150 mph!

Andy's look of frustration after he lost to Verdasco on a 3rd and deciding set.

Since during the awarding ceremony, they were facing 90 degrees from us, I just decided to take a photo of the score board. :D

And of course, this is what was waiting for us when we got out of the Pavilion. A majestic view of the sky as the sun was setting down!

All in all, the whole event was great! For tennis afficionado, it was a great way to see these star players play in our very own eyes. It gives a totally different feeling to watch them live than watch them on tv. I am looking forward to watch them again next year!
